Ecological Survey on Species of Poaceae Family Present in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Campus Awka, Anambra State

An ecological survey was done on the species of poaceae family present in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka campus. Data collected from eight different zones campus which randomly divided for adequate coverage and proper representation. Species dominance, percentage cover species, abundance diversity were recorded. The result study showed that a total 24 identified area; Eleusine indica had highest across zones, with frequency 36 average 28.59, while Sporobulus pyramidalis is second most abundant 35 Pennisetum polystachion third 25. went further to show various distributions zones. relative 19.4%, followed by (16%) (13.5%). More so, Andropogon gayanus (8.1%) tectorum, Brachiaria falcifera, Dactyloctenium aegyptium Digistaria horizontalis as well Eragrostis tenella, tremela, Panicum maximum violaccum all lowest 0.5 % each. Shannon Wiener index area 2.59 this there high invariably indicates great potential utilization conservation purposes.
